PAMELA M. BOND CONTRACTOR founded ELLIPSIS, the parent company of Ellipsis Editing, serving the academic and scientific communities, and Word Polishing, serving the creative writing community, in 2001 and serves as its President and Editorial Director. Pamela has a bachelor’s degree in English literature from La Salle University, did graduate coursework in technical and science communication at Drexel University, and studied sociolinguistics at Temple University, all in Philadelphia.
At Ellipsis, she served as developmental editor for numerous prestigious academic and scientific books, organized a number of high-level academic and scientific symposia, and managed more than $2.5 million in grant funds. Previously, she was a consultant editor and writer in the technical, medical, and pharmaceutical fields, as well as editor of a biomedical engineering journal for 10 years.
Currently, at Ellipsis Editing she works with academic and scientific writers and organizations. At Word Polishing, she works with authors of long and short fiction, memoir, and creative nonfiction, genres in which she also writes. Pamela is a volunteer literacy and ESL/EFL tutor and also works with writers whose native language is other than English. In addition, she provides website, blog, and e-publishing services.
Pamela designed and manages GlobalBusiness.me and provides editorial input on her husband, Farok’s, content. She may be persuaded to add some content of her own from time to time. Pamela is also the designer and author of ThePatientPath.net, a healthcare-consumer-oriented blog that encourages patients and their families to make informed medical choices and to participate fully in their own healthcare and well-being.
